LATINOAMERICA :THE KEY OF THE ENERGY RING DEVELOPMENT

The energetic change is one of the keys of the economy of the century XXI. This is the reality of Latinoamerica, that cant deny and it means efficient action and the openning of new possiblitities in the international scenario. In long term it could be the deeppest MEANING of the Summitt Trinindad Tobago in April 2009.

Barack Obama showed a new way to approach to international problems , he remarked that the most powerful country of the world couldnt solve alone the contemporaneous problems, as the rest of the world knows without United States those problems wont have a solution .

He wishes to create a new Society of the Americas on energy and climate matters that helps to learn for one to each other, sharing the technology , empowering the investments and mazimixisize the comapratives advantages .

What does this means for Latinoamerica?

There was a plan the Energy Ring between the latinoamerican countries with a vision of integration , where each country collaborates in the diverse resources ,oil, gas, hydrogenergy, eolic plants, solar plants, all this means a map of possibilities for the present and future .

The CEPAL took this subject and developed the preliminaries studies a time ago, that it should be review to share with NorthAmerica . The only existance of gas pipelines demostrates that adding a few more of 1000 kms and a politic of good will could be installed a sudamerican network of a huge reach and capacity to unite the Atlantic and Pacific .

But all this could be possible with the disposition of new technologies and Obama opens these possibilities in a increasing way .

One example is Detroit that had 1.8 millons of people and today only 900.000 as consecquence of the reducing tha automaker industry crisis.

But it was there , where can be visited the installations that will tell which will be the future world through the solar energy and the way that the cars will be empowered ,for now will be hybrid for going to the other step of hydrogen and electricity

It is an irony of the destiny that there in Detroit the biggest automakers didnt see how at their side it has been producing new technologies. Ironic because Japan saw that and now the hybrid japan cars go to the market with technology developed since many years in Detroit.

Next year will be hybrid american cars but where will the batteries come from , for making them work ? From Japan and behind this story there is one name that latinoamerican people should know very well : Stan Ovshinsky. He is an selftaught person, a genious inventor who subscribed 400 royalties under his name or his company.
He had been doing this for decades before it began the rumours of the need of petroleum and the change of the climate was not a subject of discussion on that times ,

From his creativity came up the semiconductors of sillicon amorphous of hydrogene that gave the big success to new branches of enginneering , solar energy and electric -hybrids cars.

Today amazes to see the factories where it is produced the flexible solar panels in a thin sheet, but beyond this, the point of view of Ovshinsky says if we join the hydrogen and the solar energy it will be working with abundant elements of the universe. This means a starting time that little by little could be put on behind the conflict of dependency of the fossile fuel , specially petroleoum. Adding to this , that the implementation of the Circuit of hydrogen could create millions of jobs in the continent .

Stanford R. Ovshinsky (born November 24, 1922) is an American inventor and scientist who has been granted approximately 400 patents over the last fifty years, mostly in the areas of energy or information.
Many of his inventions have come to play central roles in modern society.

Among the most prominent are: his environmentally friendly nickel-metal hydride battery, which has been widely used in laptop computers, digital cameras, cell phones, and electric and hybrid cars; continuous web multi-junction flexible thin-film solar energy laminates and panels; flat screen liquid crystal displays; rewritable CD and DVD computer memories; hydrogen fuel cells; and nonvolatile phase-change electronic memories.

Ovshinsky opened the scientific field of amorphous and disordered materials in the course of his research in the 1940s and 50s in neurophysiology, neural disease, the nature of intelligence in mammals and machines, and cybernetics. Amorphous silicon semiconductors have become the basis of many technologies and industries. Ovshinsky is also distinguished in being self-taught, without formal college or graduate training.

Throughout his life, his love for science and his social convictions were the primary engines for his inventive work.

In 1960 Ovshinsky and his soon-to-be second wife, Iris Dibner, founded Energy Conversion Laboratory in a storefront in Detroit, dedicating the laboratory to the solution of important societal problems using science and technology.

Focusing on the critical areas of energy and information, their new company, reconstituted in 1964 as Energy Conversion Devices (ECD), went on to become a forefront invention and development laboratory whose products have built new industries, many of them aimed at making fossil fuel obsolete. ECD continues (through joint ventures and license partners) to be a leading solar energy and battery production firm.
Roughly a year after Iris Ovshinsky's untimely death in August 2006, Stan Ovshinsky left ECD and established a new company, Ovshinsky Innovation LLC devoted to developing the scientific basis for highly innovative and revolutionary energy and information technologies. In October 2007 he married Rosa Young, a physicist who had worked at ECD on numerous energy technologies including a hydrogen-powered hybrid car and on Ovshinsky’s ambitious vision of a hydrogen-based economy.

This should be registered in the intelligence design of Latinoamerica challenge project because it means the future, working on the natural energy resources and assuming that from the crisis come up the new developments
Adding this to the Energy Ring of the Mercosur Region integrated now with North America would mean a real new advance and a promising future of all economies.

I don'tunderstand why there aren't comments. It's a very interesting psst concerning the need to change energy. The feature of sustainable develpment is based on renewable green energy.

The current economic crisis along with last years huge spike in energy prices likely to happen again soon does offer the perfect opportunity to create, explore and perfect cheaper alternatives of environmentally friendly forms of energy. If there were many more like Ovshinsky and his companies involved in these areas Im sure society and the environment as a whole would have started benefiting more years ago.

Oil/Auto industries have been involved for years in suppressing many types of these forms of alternatives energy. Any Administration that puts an end these practices once and for all should have everyone's total support.
